| Paw Prints Newsletter (June) |
| From the Principal (June) Dear Valley Ridge Parents,
This issue is the last Paw Prints issue for the year. As with the end of every school year, it is gratifying to look back on all the positives that have occurred throughout the year. Our hope is that, in some way, each child has been affected positively for the future. I do know that, during this past year, parents, teachers, PTA, cafeteria workers, custodians, etc. have invested numerous hours to help provide an outstanding education and a supportive school climate for each student. I would like to thank everyone for their sacrifice of time and gift of talent!!
Those of you, who have worked as a PTA board member or parent volunteer, please consider giving your time again next year. If you have not volunteered this year, please feel free to talk to someone in the office or contact a PTA board member to put your name on the volunteer list. Our school needs many volunteers to help with PTA, field trips, fundraisers, student council projects, Jump Rope for Heart, classroom parties, Field Day, 5th grade day camp, and much more.
I would like to give a huge “thank you” to Lorna Gibson and the 2009-2010 PTA Board. They have supported Valley Ridge by provided financing for many classroom needs and by providing help with everything asked of them. A special thanks also to Jen Hair who has taken the time to put together our Paw Prints newsletter each month this year, to Julie Hunden and Tiffany Campbell for the awesome yearbook, and to Tiffany Emory for the beautiful VRE scrapbook.
The last day of school, as you probably already know, is Thursday, June 10th. There will be an early dismissal at 1:30 PM. Be looking in each of your children’s report card envelopes for a Class Supply List and an End-of-the-Year Letter that gives you information about postcards from next year’s teachers, August Meet the Teacher/Bring School Supplies, Parent Orientation, etc. Also, the envelopes may include other important information.
Have a wonderful summer enjoying time with your children. Take care and be safe.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Charlotte Cauthen |

| Important Information for ALL Valley Ridge VolunteersLewisville ISD is upgrading the Volunteer Criminal History software this summer. As a result, ALL Valley Ridge parents/guardians who want to volunteer for field trips, to help in the school, etc. will be obligated to reapply to serve our campus. Even if you have previously been approved (in years past) to be a volunteer, you must fill out another volunteer application. EVERYONE must fill out another volunteer application.
The new volunteer application will be ready as soon as school begins. Please make plans to apply online at http://www.lisd.net/employment/volapp.html so that you may continue to be eligible to serve as a campus volunteer.
It will be especially important for you to reapply as a volunteer ASAP (as soon as school begins). It takes at least 3 weeks to be approved as a NEW volunteer.
Thank you for being a great group of parents who are always so willing to volunteer and support our students and teachers. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! |

VRE Mission
|
 |
|
The mission of Valley Ridge Elementary is to maintain a caring, safe, and effective environment that promotes learning and maximum achievement. The school climate will support opportunities that encourage self-esteem, a personal commitment to accepting responsibility, and higher order thinking skills, such as the ability to reason and solve relevant problems. These characteristics prepare all students to function as productive citizens. Our goal is for all our students to BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE AND DO THE RIGHT THING while receiving an excellent education.
